What's a fair deal on a 530xit wagon now?

Some folks are saying BMW is providing special incentives to dealers to move 2006 models, since the 2007's are arriving soon.

Others are saying the 06's are in short supply due to lease incentives.

What's the scoop? What's a realistic price (over or under 2006 dealer invoice) for a 530xit wagon bought off a dealer lot in late March?

I know that you're in the west and I'm in the midwest, but here's my dealer's current special which is also the price I bought mine for in September...

I was quoted $3,500 off sticker on a Silver/Black with Premium, Nav, Cold, PDC, Rear Heated. Lease for 36mos w/ 15,000 mi/yr with $2,600 in inception fees including 1st mo payment at $688/per month. I thought that was a good deal right out of the gate. Thoughts?

I was able to lease at $799 p/m with tax (massachusetts) (@$750 p/m without tax) for 36mos @15k a year with 0 down, just first month payment due at delivery. Car included premium, sport pack, 18" wheels, nav, L7, cold pack, rear heat, sat radio, window blinds. Dealers have been very agressive on the e61 because a lot of people don't like wagons for whatever reason . In addition, I don't think BMW has been very aggressive on marketing it either (in the northeast anyway). The reason they are in short supply is because dealers are not ordering (I heard from a little birdie at the dealership). They are afraid they will sit unsold.

Taking delivery from dealer stock with sport/premium/winter package of a silver w/ black E61, the dealer did $1200 over US invoice, residual of 74% for 2 yrs / 24K miles, and gave the insanely low MF being offered to move the tourings. With taxes and no money down, it was too attractive to pass up.

In the NYC area. I was able to get $1,500 over invoice on a built to order 2007 model.

Chet,
What is the estimated delivery schedule for an 2007 order? Also, where there any changes to the option packages or colors, etc.?

Estimated delivery is end of April or early May....latest by first week is what I was told. Per BMWUSA site car is still only on order and no production date yet.

There were a few option changes. Sports Package for Touring in US now comes with Comfort Seats, Sports Steering Wheel and shadowline trim. You can select Logic-7 sound as a stand-alone option. I also got HD radio. I don't know when the aux input was added but it is available with a power source in the center console.

There were several new options available...ventilated seats, Nasca leather, night vision....which I passed on.

Otherwise nothing new that I know of.

will also be interesting seeing how there's been serious discussion of the 528/535 classifications also coming out this Fall.
