Hello,
I got an E61 with the N53B30 engine.
While trying to diagnose where a coolant leak is coming from, there's a big metal piece that connect to the radiator (not sure if it's actually connected to it..) that block my view.
Please see the attached picture with the metal pieced circled with red.
Could someone give me more details about what is that and what it does?

N53s have an an exhaust manifold cooler; Literally takes a cold air feed from the side of the grills infront of the rad (like the airbox but the passenger side) and funnels it overtop of the exhaust manifolds
