Hi. I want to lower/firm up my non-m-sport E61(self levelling) and am a little confused.
Do I just get front springs and have the rear re-programmed but if so does this not make front firmer ride but rear still soft or are you meant to get front & back springs as well as getting rear reprogrammed. It just seems to be that most spring kits for the E61 are only for the front because of the self-levelling suspension.

Cheers

Further to above post I have now had some e-mails back from suppliers stating that only the front springs are supplied for the E61 with Self-Levelling. However does this mean car is firmer on front than back???

You could always add a E60 M5 rear anti-sway bar. I did, but no clue if it is any better.

I suppose that with the rear lowered, it will be somewhat "firmer" just because there is less travel in the suspension.

as i understand that front lowering is performed by springs, rear only by programming leveling system.

imo the rear should be softer because of lesser pressure in bags (to rise the car higher, you have to rise the pressure as well)... I dont know if it is any significant change, I plan doing this in a month or so (I have Eibach front springs on the shelf, rear will be dropped via rotating the position-sensing arm on suspention)

Maybe I can share my experience with lowering my E61. I used a set of H&R front springs
-35mm. I reprogrammed the rear suspension to match the ride height in the front. The first thing I noticed is the rear is slightly stiffer, and the compression rate was reduced.

Hope I helped.

This is what some were talking about!!!

I asked Nels996 if the H&R cames with the rear brackets and do not!

Interesting!
