I am changing my tyres to winter tyres and I am trying to set the pressure but looking at the handbook it says to contact your BMW service agent! What use is that!
Worryingly when I manually checked the pressure in the summer set it was all over the place without the TPC detecting anything.
Anyone know what pressures I should have in:
225/55 x16 which is my winter set (I am too tight to go for 17?s rims)
245/40 x18 my summer set
Its an 05 530d sport touring (E61)

Don't know about the E61 but my E60 manual quotes 225/55 R16 also M+S as 2.2/220/32 Front and 2.5/250/36 for Rear under normal loading and for heavy loading 2.5/250/36 Front and 3.0/310/44 the Rear. After you set the pressures you will need to reset the Run Flat indicator on the i Drive.... see manual. Hope this helps! If not..... as the book says contact your BMW service agent after all you paid good money for the car so make them work for it. ![Thumbsup](https://5series.net/forums/images/smilies/imported/thumbsup.gif)

The original E61 summer tyre pressures are 32/38 and now I have them on 34/40. Just a small increase for the winter tyres. Tyre wear seems fine so that a good judge.
Look on the plaque on the drivers side doorwell. That has a winter tyre guide as well. Well it does on mine.

Nope - 2.2 / 2.6 as per the 245/40/18 section with normal loaD. Intstructions on the inside door panel.

What is the build date of yours?
My pillar sticker gives the pressures I quoted.
They may have changed them.
