The door pillar sticker on my 535XIT calls for tire tire pressure of 40+/- pounds which seems very high and produces a hard ride. What are others running the tire pressure at? I have the stock 17's tires (no run flat).

My bad the front calls for 31 pounds and explains the hard ride. The dealer rotated tires but never fixed the tire pressure.

I don't remember the exact pressure recommended for front and rear, but do recall there's like a 8 PSI difference b/w them.

I ran a set of rear 17" tyres from new at 40PSI as recommended on the door pillar. They were non-runflats and the ride felt too hard. The tyres wore out in the middle to confirm that the pressure was too high.
I'm running them at 36PSI now which feels better but it's too early to see how the tyres are wearing.

I have 38,000 on Goodyears and they have almost no wear. I did rotate them once.
I bet no one can say that if they are using run flats.

That's unacceptable sloppy lazy service -- I recommend you tell your dealer GM in WRITING. Overinflated tires will wear poorly, directly affect handling, and are more susceptible to damage (wheels and tires) from road hazards.
Wonder what other little details might they miss ... like putting in 20 qts of oil OR, worse yet, NONE
It's really sad that some shops charge < $100/hour and do $1.00/hr work!
