My Ride: My ex-ride: EU '08 LCI 520dA. Space Grey, Sport Seats in Black Leather/Fabric Anthracite, Sport Steering Wheel, A/C with Extended Features, Hi-Fi Speakers, Cup Holders, Cruise with Braking function, Folding Rear Seats, Xenons, Park Distance Control.
I have the original CIP (from late 12/07) and I don't even know what it is.
Anyway, the car works perfect, so no Progman CIP update is needed.
The new MY '09 iDrive will for sure be a upgrade, especially for those with the Nav Pro.

AFAIK there is no way of knowing except to ask your dealer next time it is in for a service (they can't tell just from the key)

Old iDrive will not get anything from the new one.
CIP: 30.2 is one of the latest, if not THE latest.
