Tailgate wiring size
 

I have the dreaded failing tailgate wiring problems ie number plate light heated rear screen glass opening not working. Ive looked on ebay for repair looms but it works out over £100 for the two looms which seems a bit steep to me.So i wanted to know what size cable to use as im gonna try just replacing the broken wires. Any help appreciated.

I did the Sencom wiring repair 2 years ago - from memory there are several different wiring sizes - if you get your hands on a manual you can look up the wiring sizes, or cut the bad sections out and measure them with a wiring gauge. You're going to want to have the best quality wire with decent, flexible insulation, as it's the insulation losing its flexibility which leads to the wire breakage. That's what's nice about the Sencom harness - silicone insultation, and great for cold weather. Good luck with this - it's a lot of work.
