Default Tailgate HKL module coding?
Does anyone know whether the HKL module needs to be recoded when it is replaced?

Hi Jeff, i just read your post from 2014 about the tailgate problem and the HKL module.
I had the same problem and someone is trying to sell me a 7 series HKL, how high did he tailgate go with it?

My tailgate opens right about to the level at which I routinely bang my forehead into it.

Not ideal, but better than not working.

You might check the setting in the iDrive. There is an option menu where you can set the height to which to open the trunk.
