I am running the Euro E61 LCI M5 Rear Swaybar on my 2008 E61 LCI 535xi. It is 23mm. It is great and tightens up cornering and turn in dramatically. JT

Yes the m5/6 bars are a nice low cost option, are you running the rear pullbars also?

JT, where did you find the 23mm bar? All I can find from a quick internet search for part 33552283036 (e61 M5) is the 20mm bar.

BMW oem E61 (wagon) M5 rear stabilizer is 20mm.
E60 M5 sedan rear stabilizer is 18mm.
E61 535ix (US Wagon) is 12mm
Links are the same. Brackets are the same (but there is a left and a right).
The "rubber mounting" parts are different.
Use the correct one!

My mistake and possibly wishful thinking. E61Fun is correct and I was working from memory. 20mm for the M6/M5 Swaybar. Ordered it from my dealer online. Cost was around $287 J

I read through the thread entitled "Sway Bar Logic" and I did not see any discussion of upgrading the front sway bar on the e61 535xi. While I had my e61 still up on jack stands for replacing DPs, I examined the access to the front sway bar last night and saw that it would be easily replaceable if there were an upgrade. Any thoughts?

There is a group buy pending for one of the few large diameter adjustable front/rear stabilizer sets available for the E60 Xi cars (sedan/saloon, wagon/touring/estate):
https://5series.net/forums/group-buy...aybars-146204/
Prior to this group buy the set was no longer stocked by any retailers I contacted. I have put in for two sets myself.
Evan is running a set on his beast:

My E61 is an M-Sport, delivered with "sport suspension" (whatever that means, for a 2010 535i Xdrive US wagon). It has a reasonably large front stabilizer. I have read elsewhere and heard from other owners that the same diameter front stabilizer was used on most E60/E61 cars, except for the active stabilizers on cars with BMW's Dynamic Drive systems, typically found on the 550i (though I believe it to be an option offered on most RWD E60's in the US, and never on the AWD E60s and E61s... though maybe just the E61, perhaps due to the air suspension).
I upgraded the E61's oem rear 12mm bar to the 20mm E61 M version, ordered in from Germany. I have a line on a set of rear E61 M air bags, but have not procured them (the thought being that they *might* be stiffer, because their spec'd weight is higher than std 535i E61 airbags).
The benefit of the RD Swaybars are that they are larger in diameter to increase spring rate, still reasonably light (they're hollow) and have three positions to anchor the link for adjustments in torsional stiffness.
Dinan makes a rear 21mm adjustable bar for the M5, which would probably work fine on our E61s, should the RD Swaybar group buy not pan out.
I don't know of any other front Xi stabilizers, nor have I looked into methods to pretension the oem stabilizer (similar to Dinan's roll control product for the E60 M5, which relocates the attachment point of the stabilizer, effectively reducing leverage and thus increasing tension under cornering).
