Spotted a 2008 535xiT for sale at a local BMW dealer, car still under warranty with CPO, 66K km (not much), black with all bells & whistles, asking price is $32.8K ($10K less than market price). For a split second I tell myself, maybe I should go see him and trade-in my 2007 530xiT for this one. I call the dealer and first thing I ask is why is the car so cheap, seller also finds it strange and puts me on hold. He gets back to me and reconfirms the asking price and mentions the car was rear ended, extensive body damage (in excess of $10K, repair done at the same BMW dealer). I politely hang up, the price was too good to be true. Too bad...

Canadian Black Book - while it doesn't give you room for adding options for this car, so may be a bit low - nonetheless, says:
Based on the kilometers you have entered, your vehicle would fall above the Average Trade-In price shown.
Vehicle : 2008 BMW 5 Series 535xi 4D Wagon AWD
Options :
Average Trade-In ? : $29,200
Average Retail : $32,900
? Less reconditioning costs

^^ I don't know how accurate the black book is. I was basing myself on the BMW Canada website for CPO cars, the 2008 all seem to have price tags above $40K +.

Here's a 2008 wagon with only 52k on it, not CPO though, and for only $33k!
