Default Sunroof tilt mode pops open and pops closed

So my wagons sunroof has started to catch on something when going into vent position and sometimes when closing the vent setting. Seems like it kinda pops open and pops closed. Almost looks like the glass panels are catching on each other. Any ideas on a fix?

  1. Check track for debris.
  2. Lube.
  3. Recalibrate sunroof travel.

I'd have listed them in a different order, but that's probably a more responsible orientation. The recalibration takes zero tools, almost as much time, and will likely cure what ails you. You just press the button in one direction (slide open, if memory serves) until it finishes doing its thing, IIRC.

it’s the tilt function having issues, track was lubed recently. And I’ve tried the recalibration and doesn’t seem to make a difference.

Recalibrate usually fixes it as I had a similar issue. Have you tried to help it along by hand? Is the shade panel pulled back to see if the wind screen is causing interference?

yeah I’ve tried with shade forward and backward, seems to do it either way. Looks like the 2 glass panels are sticking to each other where they meet.

Two glass panels?

The entrapment safety mechanism can be touchy. Very touchy.

yeah two, it’s a pano roof. And the safety stuff isn’t tripping, the panels just catch and make a bunch of noise

Got it. Then you may need to have the alignment checked out.

so just loosen the mounting point of the glass and shift em til they don’t collide but still seal properly? Seems easy enough to do
