Looking to get staggered 124s off of a 550i sport packge car.
Front is 245-40-18, rear is 275-35-18.
I want a clean install, with no problems. Don't want rubbing OR difficulties down the road, especially with the service department!
Please help!

Oh yeah, I found this:
But does that mean I'm good to go?

There are a number of posts discussing the validity of non-BMW approved wheel fitments for the E61. BMW disapprove of anything other than the same wheel front and rear (eg 18x8ET20 all round, and not the 18x9ET32) and also the 19" options offered for the E60.
All the BMW tuners offer larger wheels, so it's clearly not a clearance issue to do with the self levelling suspension, so is it because of the load ratings differing from those stated for the vehicle. In this case, I would assume that the gutachten for the tuner wheels would necessitate a modification to the load rating plate or some other way to notify the vehicle owner?

You will need spacers in the rear. I have a set of staggered 124 that I have used on my 535 and it was problems with break clearence and rubbing. I have to get 10mm spacers, new bolts, repair the wheels, and put on the new tyres for the upcoming summer.

Although they are slighly higher offset at 18x9ET32, they still occupy a volume within the confines that a 20x10ET22 with 285/25R20 occupies - this is a rear Hartge size: http://www.hartge.de/html/wheels.html
Can anyone draw a diagram of where the clearance issue is?

Do you have US or Euro version of E61 Touring? If it's a US 530xi Touring then you will run into offset issue using wheels from 550i the Style 124 as they are ET20/ET32 offset and for you should be ET43:
