The type 32 are very nice aswel. Unfortunately it is not allowed to install them on the E61. The bigest size allowed by the papers are 19".
The papers don't allow the M5 rims either, or my 128s for that matter!
In Germany you just need to get the non-standard set-up approved by T?V and then have it entered into the cars papers -- like I did with my M5 rims on my 2 E60s and with the 128 rims on my current Touring. So you CAN DO, its just if you WANT TO Is that the same in Italy too?

My plan during the spring is to mount the carbon grille, carbon rear diffuser and the M5 exhaust, Hamann carbon splitter, new 20" wheels and rear led lights. All is waiting in my yet cold garage
j/k, that's an impressive list!

My Ride: 2005 BMW 530d M-Sport TouringExterior: Titansilber Metallic, M5 mirrors, ACS rear roof spoiler, BMW Carbon Fiber rear diffuser, Adaptive Xenon headlights, AngeliBright v.3 Angel Eyes, F1 Autohaus Euphoria 6000K LED license plate lightsInterior: Black
I have not completely decided on what to do mod-wise, but I have a few ideas.
- AngeliBright v.3 (already ordered)
- M5 166 wheels
- tires (not sure on this)
- stainless steel brake lines (in the works)
- ACS hand brake cover and iDrive knob (already ordered)
- Hartge front splitter (not convinced on this)
- M5 instrument cluster (in the works)
- a variety of travel items from BMW: mobility kit, 14 liter, 12V cool box, vests X 3, locking car cover
I am also open to any suggestions aside from removing the roof rails.

I recommend tyres, they'll improve the comfort and grip significantly.................. sorry, couldn't resist
On subject of roof rails...
I took my car to the dealer today to collect my M5 rims. Don't ask me how, but somehow the workshop garage door came down on the roof of my car, hitting the antenna-fin and pushing it into the roof So they need to take it in to have the dent removed, antenna-fin replaced, and all resprayed
However, this got me thinking.... maybe they could remove the roof rails at the same time and I'm sure they'll do me a good deal! I like the look with roof rails, but think it might make the car look lower and less "family car" like. I have a few days to think about it......

I just need to be convinced about which tire to get. Time to do some research!
Holy crap! That is a major bummer about your ROOF! WTF?!
But yeah, undoubtedly, they would give you a very good deal on removing the rails! Probably a perfect time to have it done as well.

I am ordering the Dunlop SportMaxx this time round for my summer tyres. I saw them on Andy545s E60 when he still had the M172s. These tyres have more rubber near the lip and in turn protect the rim a little more. I currently have Michalin PS2 on my M5 rims and they are awesome; grip, road noise and comfort. However, they do not give any protection for rim lip... and my M5 rims need some serious attention from a Wheel-Dr! Neither are the cheapest tyre on the market, but I would never go for cheap tyres -- it makes such a huge difference to quality of the whole driving experience.

Have been thinking about M5 steering wheel and sport side skirts as well so if I find used ones for a good price I might pull the trigger. Would love a remap also but not sure if I wanna fork out 7-8 hundred EUR if I'm getting rid of the car within a year...
