Sport Automatic Transmission Selector / Sport Button Retrofit Question

I’m assembling the parts and DIY instructions to retrofit the Sport Automatic Transmission Selector and Sport Button from a 550i (P/N: 61319142950) in my E61 AWD. Also want to get the paddles on the wheel done, but that might come down the road if I can source a good used wheel and the other bits.

A few questions to those who have done it:

1: What other parts do I need? One set of DIY instructions I have for doing this on an E60 says I have to replace the ECU. ( can’t recall ECU p/n, I’ll look it up)

2. Can the leather shroud/boot be replaced?

3. I have the XHP Transmission Stage 3 tune active. Will I need to deactivate or remove and reflash this? Not an issue just want to know if it might interfere with coding (Haven’t heard back yet from XHP on this)

4. Is there anybody who has done the coding that can provide some resources? I read through some other threads that mentioned needing some files. (Not sure if I’m confusing this with the Alpina flash. Too much reading today)

5. Does anybody want to see a video of the install?

OK, answered one of my questions (#1) which is that it looks as though I do need to replace the ECU. I already purchased the trans selector, button and shroud already but it didn't come with the ECU so I'm trying to source another now at a reasonable price.

There’s a very detailed thread about all your questions somewhere on here. I’ve looked at it once. You need the shifter and The module from the shifter surround, button etc. There’s also some programming you can do. That’s up to you.

After I posted this I found that thread. Couldn't delete this post but if there's a mod checking this please feel free to delete this post.
