Hi all!
Im looking into changing my horrible style 134 16 inch wheels and have been reading around the forum and found very useful info. But I have some questions that I feel is not answered. I have a 525 e61 -05. In bmws spec both the e60 and the e61 have wheels with et ( offset ) 20 as standard. but on the e60 your allowed to use 9,5 inch rims in rear with et 32, doesnt this mean that you actually change the cars track width? Another thing I wonder abt is that I have read in some other post that if your going to use the 9,5 inch with et32 on a e61 , some say that you need spacers of 12-13 mm. But then I saw that a reader with nick DEEMAN uses 10 inch rear wheels with et20 without spacers. the width inside for deeman will be ( 10/2*2,54 + 20 )= 14.7 cm, and for bmw oem ( 9.5/2*2.54 + 32 ) = 15.3 . The diff is 6 mm, wouldnt this be enough to use as spacer to prevent from any rubbing inside? or is it its extra important to keep the track width constant on a e61 , rather than on a e60? The final question : does anyone know the max "inside width" to prevent any rubbing on an e61
