Vilauto is really a must

I didn't see your post until now,
Vilauto is in Vila Real.
I've been quoted 500 Euros for the remap but it may turn out to be more.
The best thing to do is contact Vilauto http://www.vilauto.com/contactos.php?idioma=pt and discuss what you need.

I think the car looks naked without roof bars. They are convenient too, last week I bought a sofa in Copenhagen by impulse, just to put it on the roof, It did look a little weird though..

The car is great - I'm surprised how well this engine pulls in low gear driving around town and how smooth and quiet it is on the motorway ! It sounds a little gruff (after all it is only a 4 cylinder) but all in all I'm very happy with the engine.
The remapp is a must - especially to give a little more power and elasticity in the mid-range for safer overtaking / faster recovery times.
The reason I'm a little doubtful as to how much the remap will cost is that although I've been given an approximate figure of 500 Euros, the OBD service advertised on Vialuto's own site states 1500 Euros. Quite a difference.
I'll let you know how everything goes as I'll be speaking with them tomorow to book the work.
P.S. Photos will be posted some time next week.

I have a question for you, vilauto remaped
With accelerations till 50% of throttle at low rpm (small turbo range) and with cold engine, i hear a little whistle from the turbo. Do your cars make the same whistle with cold engine.

In the meantime, are you happy with the work done at Vilauto ?

To tell you the truth I am considering to pay a visit to the local dealer since my car?s warranty expires in July and I would not like one of the turbos to die before that time.
Kind regards from Spain

Yes indeed. After 50.000 Kms after remapping my car sounds like : Chiu, chiu, chiu whistle when deccelerating and in cold engine conditions.

Are you guys saying that the remapping has something to do with this altered sound from your engines / turbo ?
It was not me, but my girlfriend who was first to notice, but then my older son did too...When the radio is turned off and when driving through a narrow lane with buildings at boths sides, you open windows. Then there it is ; First the classic turbo whistle when accelerating. OK
But then, when deccelerating, a Chiu,chiu,chiu,chiu....chiu.........chiu noise. A noise similar to the centrifuged driing operation from a washing machine.
I do not see the relation to the remapping action, however.
Cheers
