So, After 501.8 Miles...

?I finally had to stop for gas for the E61. It took 17.894 gallons to refill the 18.5 gallon tank while driving home yesterday from Orlando.
The after-market tires are a bit noisy and coarse (?98 XL? load designation), but the car otherwise ran quite nicely indeed.

Yes, tire noise is probably due to the fact you're running a load index of 98, vs. the OEM requirement of 93.
I find the computer is pretty accurate in determining how much distance is left on the tank of gas, compared to other cars!

I suspect another component in the "noise equation" is the tires' brand: Velozza. As best as I can tell, they're a Sumitomo off-brand. They came with the car when we bought it last year.
I plan/hope to replace 'em with Michelin MXM4 94W's, perhaps in the spring. I've already got four each style 243 wheels and new center caps ready to go:
I have to admit that I'm impressed with the car computer's DTE accuracy!
And, we've had the car out on three trips this year (2012) totaling ~4,500 miles, all without incident.
