Anyone with the factory part # for the roof rack cross bars? Any aftermarket options? Thule or Yakima? Don't plan on using them very often, maybe no more than twice a year for short jaunts.

I've got a couple of cheap aftermarket roof bars.

One set was bought for our old A4 (B6 Variant) from Halfords and while the bars themselves are a little short for the wider 5 series, the feet work without problem.

The other set I got thrown in when I bought a Roof box. These also fit without any worries. The bars are Thule, but I've forgotten what the feet are.

you can buy used ones easily on ebay (at least on German ebay) for approx 60-80 Euros.

That is what I did, I purchased the original BMW ones.

Just a little comment... There are BIG similarities between Thule and BMW (identical except for the sticker). This goes for both cross bars, roof racks, etc. This could lead to a conclusion that Thule is OEM supplier to BMW??

Thanks for the tip. I was looking at the Thule catalog and it looks like they have two different mounts that looks very similar.
