After water ingress in the electronics I had to replace the sunroof module. Not having access to INPA/ISTA, only Carly, I now have a curtain that is 80 percent open and won't close. I can open the sunroof to tilt. The curtain vent function activates, but if I try opening fully, the curtain seems to come to its internal stops and I'm afraid of damaging it. Will a standard initialisation (press, hold sunroof button) take care of this or do I need someone with a computer?

I've never used Carly as it leaves a lot of people stranded and damages modules. Personally I would use a INPA or BimmerGeeks Protool. I only use a PC but have PT just never used it.

Sure, and I’m not thinking of looking in Carly for help in this case, just trying to find out if initialising it will work or risk damaging the curtain.

Decided yesterday to just give it a shot and see. Nothing, no initialising, no response. So I guess I need someone with a PC.

How long did you press? You have to hold for the duration of the initialization process... took about 2 min.
Did you just install a new or used module? new would need programmed, old might need defaulted then initialized.

Hi Andy. At the time, I pressed for like, half a year and nothing at all happened. That was with the engine running
Last week I went out and tried again with just the ignition on, no engine. And it worked. Initialization complete, curtain closed and operating as it should. This was with a used module. So, problem solved...
