Default Radio does not like heated rear window

Hi,

Every time I turn on the heated rear window in my E61 LCI 525d, the radio reception goes from good to horrible. No problems when listening to a CD. Any suggestion as to the problem would be greatly appreciated.

I think the ariel is in the back window. Do you have satnav?

I have the exact issue on my pre-LCI 2007 E60 (530i). I also have satnav. I'd love a solution.

I can only think that this is down to some poor wiring, either the cables going to the tailgate or the aerial which may or may not be part of the window.

Here we go, taken from https://5series.net/forums/e60-discu...n-21000/page2/

I had poor reception particularly when I had the rear defroster on(moist conditions),Turns out that the rear glass had to be replaced because the the antenna and the rear defroster being in the same glass became fused by the moisture which seemed to be something that they were well aware of and they replaced the rear glass under warrenty, big difference for the better in the reception.

Try to search for posts from me on this topic. Pretty sure I attached a bulletin on where various antennas are located.
