Default Brake Squeal

Hi all

changed my brake pads a few weeks ago and have had major squeal since
thought it might bed in and stop
i know that people put some copper anti squeal grease on them somewhere when fitting

can anyone tell me where I should put the copper grease to eliminate the squeal as I don’t know where it should go

thanks in advance

Put it on all metal clips and bracket and and the back of the brakes. Anywhere the brake touch. If you don't cover everything it will squeal. I don't use anti seize but some do. I use CRC brake quiet because it forms a rubber barrier. I put it on let it dry then put the brakes on. You have to clean it with a wire brush every change to get the old stuff off but it last longer than liquid due to dust and dirt.

It took me years to figure that out.

What pads did you replace with? I have had issues with all except Akebono.

Hi
i used Eicher from Euro Car Parts
probably one of the economy brands
Greased the parts as recommended by seanjordan and it’s cured the problem so its going good

in terms of brake performance they seem perfectly adequate for stopping so it’s a thumbs up from me

My only issue is how to clear the “replace brake pads” warning that I can’t seem to reset and displayed on the centre console
if I could clear that I would be happy

Thanks seanjordan for your advice

cheers

Anytime. I just know it took me a few brake jobs to figure it out.

You have to replace the brake sensors (1front and 1 rear). They can not be reused. Once you replace them it will reset by itself. They should of came with the brakes if not suggested.

If the grease wears out redo it with CRC. It lasts until your next change. A real thin coat everywhere is all you need

Thanks
no it didn’t come with the pads
maybe that’s why they are economy and nearly 50% of the other leading brands

lesson learnt there

thanks for the info
much appreciated
