Panic Alarm is Gone and Acoustic Lock Confirmation Not Working
Hello all,
The panic alarm used to work just fine on my car (2006 530xi)...my dog would set it off if I locked the car with him in it. I've since learned that you can lock twice to disable tilt and motion. I'm not sure when the panic alarm stopped working but when I hold the rear hatch release it just opens the hatch no matter how long I hold it. I tried rolling a window down and reaching in to open the door to test the panic alarm but it won't let me...it just keeps pulling the lock button back down and I didn't want to try and force the handle.
I recently changed the car's battery and registered and coded it properly verified with ISTA. I had a SINE error so I pulled the siren and replaced the batteries in the siren and the error has not returned since I cleared the code. I also enabled acoustic lock confirmation with bimmercode and selected the option in idrive. However, I still don't have acoustic lock confirmation. Any ideas on where to start chasing this gremlin?

Why did you use Bimmercode to do anything with the alarm programming/coding if it use to work? The coding just doesn't disappear. You need to default code the module using NCS and then figure out what your issue is. Using 3rd party software to code is just adding another probable issue to troubleshoot. You may need to go to a BMW specialist to figure out the issue. If you have ISTA/BMW software tools you should of been able to narrow down the issue without using BimmerCode unless you messed the coding up initially and trying to fix it.

I only used bimmercode to enable the acoustic lock confirmation (and to code my battery cause I couldn't get ISTA+ installed right). I didn't touch anything in the alarm section of bimmercode but I'm going to go check it out this weekend and see if something is off. I'm not sure when the panic alarm (or really alarm in general) quit working but I think it was before I did anything with bimmercode.
The only error I see is A468 in ISTA which I think is a fiber optic cable issue? I'm not sure it's related but sometimes my navigation works and other times it disappears and tells me to insert the DVD even though it's already in there.
Yesterday I locked the doors with the windows down and popped the hood. No audible alarm nor flashing lights. I also locked the doors with the hood open then pressed the hood switch and the lights flashed. Through all of this my clown nose was blinking when I lock the doors. It's like the alarm has been deactivated or something?
I tried using NCS to do the coding but I kept getting an error that there is no FSW_PSW.man file in the work folder. Any idea how to create one?
