It started just after I got my car in late April; the stop on the left side that should lock the luggage cover only worked intermittently. Now it's totally dead. Don't think you can ring them and ask for a new motor to be ordered though; first they need to spend an hour to analyse whether it's the motor as such or if it has anything to do with the cabling. That means two visits to the dealer; one to find out and after the correct spare part has been ordered, another visit for the actual change. Lovely.

What's really irritating is the fault found today; the switch to the rear window not only works when itself wants to, but opens the rear window without any interference from any human hand. A nice feature when you park the car in a garage in Copenhagen city all day. I've read similar experiences from other E61 owners on the forum, but I didn't think this would happen to a car that's only four months old.

Bugger.

If your car had some years under its belt all the symptoms would point at the wiring loom near the tailgate being worn right? But how could that happen with a brand new one?

Strange...

Good luck with solving the issues!

Glad to hear it was sorted quickly, especially after all you went through with the last car. Heopfully it stays that way now!
