I'm new to this forum so hello to all.

I just bought a used '08 535xit with almost all available options from a non-BMW Dealer. Great car but it has no manuals or documantation), no flashlight, no tool kit, and who knows what else. My 2000 528it that I traded had these things. Can anyone tell what manuals and accessories are supposed to come with the car. I'd like to go back to the dealer and try to get him to make good on any missing items.

Great Forum.

Thanks,
Carl

Hello Carl, welcome.

My 08 550i had no flashlight. I think they discontinued that perk.

I think you can download an Owner's manual from a BMW website. It will be a PDF and an SOB to print out. Maybe some other member can be more specific as to the website.

Glad to have you on board.

Welcome Carl. What part of PA are you in?

You can find manuals right on this site by clicking here: https://5series.net/information/

The flashlight and tool kit can be purchased from any BMW parts department (unfortunately, the flashlight is usually the first thing to get swiped.) I'm not sure if every model car comes with the flashlight as standard -- I'm certain that my 2004 came with one and I'm about 95% sure there's one in my 2008 car as well. If you are looking for a discount on parts, take a look at the following:
https://5series.net/forums/index.php?showtopic=18067

Spend some time reading the manual and browsing this site -- don't limit yourself just to the E61 forum either. The E60 forum pretty much applies to your car as well and there's a ton of information out there so have fun reading!!

Those things disappear from all cars during the transportation process. Floor mats too. Same happens during detailing.

Thanks, guys, for the warm welcome and quick response to my question.

To answer your question, Rudy, I'm from the Philadelphia area (Doylestown) and the opposite end of the state from you it appears.

I will check with my local dealer and see what is available. Mostly, I would like to have all the printed docs to read myself to sleep or refer to as needed when traveling.

Thanks again. This is a great forum. I found it through the BMW CCA Site.

Regards, Carl
