Hi Guys

Just taken delivery of my 2007 e61 520d tourer auto

really pleased with the car exept for the mpg driving like a granny gets me 38 mpg at best

just a few questions if i may,

how do i know if i have the 163 or the 177 bhp version, it was registerd on 02/aug/2007 has 189 c02 rating i think that puts it in the 163bhp bracket i think

what can i do about the fuel consumption as its pretty high i think compared to the newer ones

am i able to remap for better fuel consumption & better hp as well??

any help much appreceated

Hi

Welcome and congrats to your new car!

Please update your location and it will be easier to help you...

My car take between 6.5 to 7.8 l/100km (163hp manual gearbox)

Link to convert to mpg!
http://www.eforecourt.com/l_100km_mpg_convert.htm

Think that the 177hp version was from september 2007 build, but not 100% sure!
Got mine in the beginning of July.

Yes you can remap to get up to 200hp and 400nm but think the fuel consumption will not get any lower because you will use your new hp?s

How many miles does it have on it?
Lots of owners report mpg's going up once they put a few thousand miles on it.

hi there its done 7400 miles so far i think it should be somwhere near the breaking in mark now i did look up the specs for the 163 & it is avg 39 mpg was thinking a mild remap would give me a few more mpg

One thing to check in the iDrive is whether it is set to US or UK gallons! Easily overlooked - my 530d came set to US gallons, which are about 20% smaller than UK ones (16 fl. oz. vs 20 fl. oz pints!)
