good question on the side covers... came that way, however the vehicle has active cruise control and the "radar" unit that tracks the vehicles to the front is located on the passenger side scoop. If anyone has the active cruise control could they take a peek and see what they have in that area.

If you have the active cruise control, you have a black cover with a plastic bulb where is allocated the radar.

wow thanks for that, looks like a trip to the BMW dealer when i get back to see if i can get the parts, unless someone knows if they are available aftermarket?

Here are the part number for the pieces:

grid left: 51 11 7 897 186
grid right for wehicles with active cruise control: 51 11 7 897 183
Each piece costs about 25 USD.
