I'm wondering if "comfort access" and "self leveling rear suspension" will be added to the option list for the U.S. models starting in September. There always seems be be some changes after the August factory vacation period.

self leveling rear suspension is also standard on the US 530xiT. I believe comfort access will be the only additional option.

Neither the BMWUSA website or the 530xiT brochure mention anything about "self leveling suspension".

So i checked the manual for the 2006 model and on page 86 it explains the warning light for the "self leveling suspension". It does not mention anything that this is an optional feature (like it does with many other features).... still have not found any other evidence the self leveling suspension is included....

Interesting...perhaps someone with a European model can tell you what to look for when looking at the rear suspension.

Put something heavy in the back when the engine is running and you will hear the self levelling pump working as it levels the car back up.

I can alos vouch for the warning light - as the self leveling sensor failed and it was another trip to the dealer. They set the car up lower at one side than the other so another trip !
But when it is working it is great - highly recommended if use the Touring for its intended purpose

The main change for MY2006 should be:
A bit different front bumper (wider bottom grill)
start/stop button for the engine
DSC of second generation
luggage compartment release button in driver's A-pillar
i-drive mouse with new design.

Changes in Europe (don't know about US) are:

- Chrome Front for every version
- start/stop button for the engine
- As an option Keyless access
- DSC of second generation
- luggage compatment release button in driver's A-pillar
- i-drive mouse with new design (top with leather)
- Distance Light assistant (turning distance light automatically off and on)
- ISOFIX / Airbag off for front passenger seat
- A new optional wheel design

In addition
- MP3 seams to arrive for Nav. Prof. (can be seen at IAA in Frankfurt)
