Hi,

After an 18 month break (sheer madness I can tell you) from BMW ownership I have returned to yet another 5 series - Been a member on here a while. Had E39's and E60's but this is my first E61.

I have a 2007 525SE, only been with me a few days but I am loving it!! Going to get it remapped next week to get a little more poke and maybe a few more MPG.

Great to be back on here and behind the wheel of a 5 Series again!!

FWIW - the wife got sick of me buying and running 'expensive' cars. We had 2 cheap brands over the last 18 months which were nothing but trouble and cost us far more in depreciation and agro than the BMW's ever did.

If you are thinking of saving a few ££ on another car - DONT DO IT!

Good choice!

had a similar experience with my wife's Renault Laguna's. She had two and when the second broke down (again) and was sold just to get it out of sight she agreed that buying a BMW made sense.

to the forum!

I did a similar thing to you when my wifes E93 developed the "wheel issue" and BMW didn't want to know,we changed across to VW/Audi for the period. The MK6 VW Golf was great but,no drop top (crazy woman thought about the lack of open top motoring when spring came along)and I bought an Audi A4 s-line avant which I detested the lack of feel through the steering and recently we got rid of the two VW/Audi cars and bought another E61 and also a new Z4 both of which we are delighted with.

You'll enjoy the E61 and I'm sure you'll have very little issues with reliability as from my experience with my last 61 which I was racking up 50k miles per year with few problems.

Here in the UK the style of 19" wheels fitted on E92's and 93's were prone to cracking in the inside of the rear wheels but,BMW denied there was any problem until the story broke on national TV then they started to replace wheels as a "goodwill" gesture

Ah... He went for the 18's as he was worried about damaging the 19's in potholes, etc. and a rougher ride.
