After waiting a record thumping six and a half months, I got the car fob in my hand yesterday afternoon and could start the fascinating trip back home in my first 5-series ever. I'll wait a couple of days with my first impressions, partly because I'm on paternity leave with two active children at home...

Here's some pics of a very low quality also the full spec, in German...

Congratulation for your car. Very nice choice.

Congrats on the new baby, Narvselius, and on the new BMW! Where did you get the 172M wheels? Are the rear ones 245/35/19 just like the front ones?
How is the ride with this wheel set-up?

fontes79 and fox 72
I bought them from salesafter.de - excellent service and very competitive prices.

They are actually four front wheels, as the Touring doesn't take the split dimensions without adding a spacer. And I thought it was a bit wide with spacers so I settled with front wheels.

Congrats!!
That was certainly worth the wait - what a fantastic combo! (I think this has just become my favorite colour combo - for this month at least )

Those 19s look great as well - great first mod

Looking forward to more pictures and hearing about the shift-paddles / sports auto on the 530d - its what I am thinking about for my next ride.

Enjoy...

Its actually Platinum Grey, not Space Grey. I was supprised how bright it was - seen a number of pictures where Platinum Grey looks very dark. Amazing how different the various colours look under different light.

The Platinum Grey responds well to sunshine - it's very bright and "sparkly" when the sun is shining, but very dark in the Scandinavian winter as the sun is more a lightish thing in the sky not making any real use of itself...

And, the pic quality really sucks. My wife's is away on a business trip and nicked our camera, so I took those pictures with our video camera. Suffice to say, there will be better pics soon!

And, yes I'll post my impressions on the "flappy paddle" thing soon

This must be Scandinavia: mum is away on a business trip and leaves dad - on paternity leave - at home with the kids. I quite like th idea
