Default Need to locate: Rear Drivers Roll Up Glass....

My wagon was broken into this last weekend. I need to locate the rear drivers side roll up piece of glass. Apparently BMW has it listed as being on "Indefinite backorder".

Wondering if anyone has any ideas or leads.

Thanks.

Sorry to hear... You've tried the local auto glass shop I would guess for something aftermarket? That seems the obvious first place, since they do windshields.

Auto wreckers?

Havent tried any wreckers, but the Local Safelite Shop, has it listed as in stock in their system, until they actually try to order it. Then it says dealer only part and on indefinite backorder. I talked to a friend at a body shop up in Seattle, Said a local glass shop has it listed as in stock. And it should be readily available down here. Going to try some more places tomorrow.

Try car-part.com. Search 535i -> Glass, Rear Door, and pick the SW (station wagon) option.

Got it replaced yesterday with some crappy Chinese glass, but it was really my only option. Talked to one of the big dealers in LA. They have been waiting 11 months for an OEM replacement rear window for one of these.

I wouldn't be worried about a chinese rear door glass... If it was the windshield, sure. That's a lot more important, with seals potentially leaking, and the fact you need to see thru it.

BMW lists the OEM piece at $160 according to the body shops here in Pasadena. Would happily pay the extra few bucks for OEM. Thats all. I am a thorough individual.
