Nice!
I was wondering how the 128's would look with the 15mm spacers. Was a bit afraid that they would have a bit too wide stance, but they look just about right

Next step: a remap??

Thanks mate!
I was also concerned about the 15mm spacers, but they turned out just right. Any more would have been too much, but they are spot on. Not sure if the M166s will look ok with ET28 and 15mm spacers. If not, I will sell them and get a set of M172 rims, which also have ET32 like the 128s.

As for the remap, I doubt it. IMHO the car already has "too much" power (torque) for mainly city driving and I do not want to unnecessarily put extra strain on the car. For now the power is great
If there was a "remap" for the automatic gearbox to make it more like the LCI auto, then I would definitely do it! Any idea if something like that is available?

My next mods will be cosmetic; full chrome grills and possibly removing the roof rails.

My car isn't LCI, but it has a much better gearbox than my former 218hp 530d, so I know what you mean by 'upgrading' the gearbox.
The problem is imo that your gearbox mainly uses the torque converter in the first 3 gears. The LCI (and 231hp version, for that matter) 'locks' into gears. That way, it makes more use of the engine's torque.

After the remap, the gear changes improved. Because of the higher torque, the auto box didn't have to downshift so often. Before the remap, the car down shifted, when accelerating from 120 km/h - 140 km/h. I found that annoying. After the remap that was improved!

Understood, thanks.
I could have gone for a 231ps version, but it was 5k more expensive and didn't have half as many options. Ah well, I guess I will use Manual-Mode more if it bugs me too much... or get the remap of course!

It's of course not a real 'problem', but it's a noticable difference.
You should consider the remap. You've got a good excuse now!

Excellent write up.

Congrats.

ps. now you know why I had to get rid of the 520dA for the 330dA - i just missed my active steering the whole time.... after 3 years active steering, the 520da just felt awkward...

I paid more attention to the auto's behaviour this evening and I think the way you phrased it is best; its not a problem, its just a noticable difference (to the LCI auto)

Hopefully the M166 rims fit in summer and then you'll have another deja vu with your old 535d E61

Most probably you won't regret the switch from the E60 to E61. I did the same and now I am already driving my second E61 in a row. What I consider sad is going from an LCI to a pre LCI. I have the chance to sit many times in my previous E61 as I have sold it to a friend of mine and it looks so old compared to the new one.
However congrats for your new ride.

Thanks!
I'm really enjoying the E61, but as you said, its not easy going from LCI to pre-LCI. You don't notice the difference that much when driving the LCI, i.e. you take it for granted, but when I get back in the pre-LCI after driving the LCI, you really notice the difference. But that's why I made sure I purchased a car with some nice extras so that it was a "step up" for me, including more power
