My Ride: 2005 E61 530i M Sport
Default My Eee Sixty One

Hi guys,

I picked this up a couple of weeks ago.

It's a 2005, 530i M Sport. Has some nice bits on it, style 128's, Eisenman exhaust, Dension kit, M Performance gear knob, TVs in the headrests (ideal for keeping the little guy quiet in the back!) panoramic roof, PDC etc, usual E61 bits. I'm also told it's got a tune in it, does go well off the lights compared to the others I've driven, I know that the N52 DME flashes net minimal gains so I can't be sure.

I debadged it, hate the rear looking so clustered, also fitted some LCI tail lights yesterday and coded the car so no bulb warnings on. I've put led lights in 1/2 of the interior so far, waiting for my other bulbs to arrive also the number plate bulbs have gone from white to a light shade of blue?! I will get those changed out soon. Updated the nav today and got some new front bumper blanking inserts ordered.

Plans are:

Polish headlights and put white angel eyes in
Yellow fog light lenses, either love it or hate it
Paint the wheels gloss black
New badges and centre caps
New floor mats
Lower it - possibly. I've got access to some Eibach front springs from
A 530i M Sport, not sure I can be bothered to swap them out into mine
Wrap the roof gloss black (still not 100% on this)
M5 mirrors
M Performance pedal covers
M5 aluminium idrive controller
Gloss black rear diffuser
Full blown detail, leather care, paint protection and de-nib
Ski racks - just because and I might go come ski season

Anyway, got a few pictures of her at the moment. I will also be changing the plates to slimline black, I hate the huge blue and white ones.

Welcome to this forum, great looking car, it also seems slight lowered. Could you share a pic of the headrest TVs? I'm toying with the idea...just like you said, to keep the little one quiet on long trips.

Thanks fellas!

It's got factory springs in it, I think the pictures may be a little flattering to the ride height.
Got one of the guys at work to give it a bath yesterday, it was filthy!

As requested, my apologies for the poor quality pictures, taken this morning in the garage.

They came with black covers too to cover the screens when they aren't on.

Although I do love the car I can't help wondering what it might be like to own a manual 535ix. We never got xDrive cars over here, with the exception of X1,X3 and X5. I imagine with a tune and a few bits they are rockets!

Nice touch the flushed TVs and the covers, good idea, thanks for sharing!

Yes, having the 535iX in the US is very nice, the engine is very easy to tune, I only have a few modest mods but I have managed 0-60 MPH in 4.6 sec and 1/4 mile in 13.3 sec....can't complain to that!

So just a small update, full set of white LED interior lights not fitted, gave the headlights some love and reconditioned the lenses and the DVD player decided not to ply anymore so sent that off to try and get repaired.

Anyone who is thinking about upgrading to LED bulbs in the interior just get it done! Seriously one of the best and easiest mods you can do, really updates the car.

The headlights were annoying me so decided to pull them out and use the sanding kit we have at work. Followed all the steps and the buff made light work of the sun damaged lenses.

a The Xenon bulbs are now much brighter plus my eyebrow lights are actually visible now! Does however mean that I badly need to upgrade the angel eyes to a white rather than the rust yellow that they currently are......anyone have any recommendations for that? Whilst I have the lights out doing those I think I will drop some LED indicator bulbs in them and the side repeaters too.

Try that instead, good old PhotoBucket making me look like an idiot again! Ha ha ha!

In other E61 related news I've been scouring the net for a reasonably priced M5/M3 iDrive aluminium knob and turning out warning lights which appear daily in the cluster.
Over the weekend the passenger seat recognition sensor decided to have a fit so dealt with that today. Just disconnected the contacts under the seat, cleaned them up and refitted. So far so good.

Previous to that the right rear tyre decided to inhale bolt that was lying in the road, so one new tyre later and that light was turned out. My boss's E60 M5 also put the airbag light on his dash and simultaneously his Bluetooth also gave up on him. Good old CCC's!

We are thinking about getting stickers made for our cars "#E6#Life".

So just a small update. I got rid of the rubbish led lights for the rear number plates and got some decent quality white ones, also fitted some led side indicator bulbs too. I am waiting for my white angel eyes and front indicator led bulbs to arrive. Also have a front bumper grill insert onits way and some yellow glass paint for the fog lamps. Tried yellow lens wrap and it just looked terrible!

Swapped on some E90 M3 wheels today, 18" as I am prepping my style 128's for paint. If only the M3 wheels were an inch bigger I would keep them
on and put bigger spacers on the front. As it is I am happy with the colour choice of my 128's, charcoal matallic grey so they will look close to the same as the M3 wheels when they are done.

Also got my roof wrapped today, it's growing on me. Best part is it's not permanent and it cost me $0 so happy with that!

So my wheels are pained an on. Got to say that I'm pretty pleased with the end result considering I did them with a rattle can!

They are a satin charcoal with metallic flake in them, something a bit different to the usual black plastidip!
