I hear you. My only reason for considering them was that they worked on my other BMW Tourings, and in the terrible winter driving conditions that I have to deal with, they needed to.
That said, I have never had a BMW with the M-Sport body before the E61. Now, I don't want to ruin the lines... so I won't!

Do you notice if you have a cleaner car in the back? Mine becomes completly caked with dirt and grime when diving in bad conditions...

My Ride: 2008 LCI E61 5-Series Touring M-Sport
Westfield SpeedSport (Race car). 250bhp, weighs 500kg. 500bhp/ton. 0-60mph 3.2secs.
A week after getting the car we got the dealer to fit rear mud flaps.
For some reason, the UK E61 LCI Accessories brochure says they can't be fitted to M-Sport models, but the USA brochure has a separate part number for SE & M-Sport models. I gave the UK dealer the part-number that BMW USA lists for the E61 LCI M-Sport and they got them fine and fitted them fine.
IMHO, it will look out of place on a light coloured car, but is fine on a dark colour car. They have definately helped reduce the muck being thrown up at the rear, but it's still worse than the Audi it replaced......

You may be able to find them if you go to the dealer and ask them to search USA-wide on the numbers. I recently bought 2 sets F/R for my 2 E61 LCI. They came from 4 different Dealers. NH/CHI/Wisconsin;Michagan. I had to make several calls for Parts reps to actually locate the parts physically in order to buy them. There are like 3 sets left US as far as I can tell. Good Luck! J
