The Time of Darkness has hit southern Scandinavia; driving off 7.15 to work means it's still dark (just about) and yesterday I barely manage to hit the motorway before I hit something else. Don't know what it was; certainly not a runaway elephant from a circus, but big enough to wake me up.
Bang! - the car jumped over the poor creature - remebering my thought that it felt much "harder", like driving over a log or something than an animal. It took a minute or two until the tyre pressure warning came on. Now what? No, I don't use RFT...
Lucky me
#1 - I was close to my dealer in Malmo so I thought I give it a try. With much reduced speed I manage to reach the dealer, park the car as close as possible, open the dorr and listening to a very distinct hissing sound, realising I been very lucky - considering the circumstances - and headed for the reception. The brought my car in immediately (again, thanks guys if you read this!) and I went for the very liberal breakfast table.
#2 - I got a pre-sneak of the new GT (looks better in real life, but not good enough) and the new X1 (really nice design - my wife will definitely like this car!).
#3 - The called me in and showed the remains of the animal (yak) and the big bone that was deep inside my left right tyre. They could fix it so ythat I could reach home where I had my winter tyres.
#4 - It's almost season for winter tyres in the South anyway, so I didn't mind changing
#5 - The summer tyres are worn out and needed changing next year anyway.
In all, a very busy morning indeed but no big scratches on the car (the minor one on the wheel arc I can handle myself) and I didn't have to wait on the motorway for assistance but could enjoy the excellence service my dealer always gives and also check the new models! pew!
Edit: Some plastic covers had been forced out of their position, but a bit of violence fixed that when I changed to winter tyres later that day.

Good to hear everything worked out okay for you (maybe not that animal). Good to hear you are fine and the car is fine.
You are the second one, after me, driving already on winter tyres. I am doing it as well after having broke one tyre hitting a road hole in Hungary last week. Mine were also worn out so not big deal as I will have to change them next spring anyway. I can see that both have used the summer tyres already three seasons so time to change them. How many km do you have on the clock?

Almost exactly 50,000 kms, but that includes one season of winter tyres (same as you), so I reckon 35,000 kms with the 19" Conti. Not bad!

Marco, are you happy with your Dunlop's? I'm happy with my Conti, but I see that Dunlops are much more cheaper...
