I voted Gloss Black. I am still keeping my OEM Chrome grills for now, because I am keen to maintain an OEM look (i.e. not obviously modded). However, I consider this mod on a (very!) regular basis and concluded that the OEM Gloss Black grill is my favourite of the black grills, simply because it has a more quality look about it. The counter arguement is that the matt black gives more contrast. If you are going to do this, you will definitely need to get the Chrome Trim around the windows replaced with Shaddow Line trim (or have it vinyl wrapped).

My Ride: 2010 BMW 530i E61, alpine white, cream-beige interior, sports-auto-transmission and a lot more-
I switched from standard chrome to high gloss 2 weeks ago and now it look way more agressive and in place than the chrome kidney,it adapts very beautiful the shadow line trim, which is also high gloss.
I would do the same as xBMWx told you before, switch the chrome line trim to high gloss black plus kidneys from standard to high gloss black and you'll be fine!
