Manual Transmission guys: Clutch Feel?

Hi all - I assume this translates to the E60 forum too, but I figured I'd start here.

I've had my E61xi MT for a little over a month now and, suffice it to say, the only thing I really am not digging about the car is the terrible clutch feel. Coming from an E39M5, I realize my standards may be on the high side, but seriously - I've stalled this thing WAY more times than my masculinity cares to admit! And then factor in the song and dance with the ignition button...

Anyway, are there any OEM or aftermarket solutions to improving clutch feel/response in this setup?

Thanks! Jeff

How many miles? My clutch feels fine. The OEM clutch is very weak though for sure for handling power.

And a clutch stop perhaps for shorter travel?

I didn't know about the CDV removal. But once Kyle (thanks, BTW!) pointed it out to me, a little googling and found this:

no problem. to this day I have no idea why BMW started putting them in their cars. They've been doing it since the E46 days. Supposedly on the E90, E60, etc you need to replace the CDV with some sort of bypass kit, but I could be wrong.

Who has done this in an e60/61? Since I've had the car I've never felt the clutch was quite right. Felt like I had to keep my foot on the gas a little bit while waiting for the clutch to disengage, otherwise the engine jerks a bit.

On the E9x platform, people either take out the CDV and punch out the insides, and then replace it, or just buy one that's had that done to it, and replace the original with it. I've never read of somebody just taking it out completely.

Actually since the e36 days. I had a e36 M3 and it bugged the hell out of me until I did something about it. I don't know why they would put it on "M" models especially.
