http://www.cobbtuning.com/products/?id=5834 and yea I would be happy to share notes on the fenders :) |
Oh, I thought you were talking about the actual head ports, not an ecu tune. I already did the Dinan Stage2 which provides about +80hp and 120ft-lb. It's pretty sweet, their exhaust too which ads a little bit more. Wheels are getting sorted out this week.
If you want a darker car than your dmv allows, you can try what I did which is 32% all around and then ad the bmw window sun shade/screens to the entire rear. They pop right in and result in more privacy than 20% tint. They can be removed for any state tint check. Some states don't actually check but NC is one where it's part of the yearly inspection and is only allowed darker on trucks and suvs or 4x4. The Subaru I had qualified as an suv somehow but the bmw's don't. Of course there are often inspection locations that are not as strict.... |
to the OP... let us know how you source the rear bumper. I just want an M-tech rear (single side exhaust) and have been reading on this site the difficulties/cost for an LCI 08 car. Such a simple wish, yet so difficult to actualize.

Ok guys .... if things go as planned I will be ordering up my KW Var 3s on Friday ;)
Also Im looking into the parts list for the M5 Front end conversion and I found the following in this thread: https://5series.net/forums/topic/108...1#entry1285717 41-35-7-898-315 - Side Panel Fender Right - $384.22 41-35-7-898-316 - Side Panel Fender Left - $384.22 51-13-7-896-849 - Side Vent Grille Right - $80.40 51-13-7-896-850 - Side Vent Grille Left - $80.40 51-11-7-895-740 - Carrier - $324.08 51-11-7-898-133 - Shock Left - $28.70 51-11-7-898-134 - Shock Right - $28.70 51-11-7-898-120 - Flap (towing eye) - $18.31 51-11-7-899-051 - Front Bumper (primed) - $538.52 51-11-1-973-721 - Holding Strap - $0.66 51-11-7-895-739 - Grid - $59.56 51-11-7-900-826 - Spoiler - $15.83 51-11-7-895-743 - Front Left Brake Duct - $49.34 51-11-7-906-473 - Front Left Brake Duct Bracket - $20.30 51-11-7-895-744 - Front Right Brake Duct - $49.34 51-11-7-906-474 - Front Right Brake Duct Bracket - $20.30 51-11-7-895-735 - Support Side panel front left - $5.21 51-11-7-895-736 - Support Side panel front right - $5.21 07-14-7-142-326 - Clip - $0.22 51-11-7-898-151 - Coverin Primed Left - $18.31 51-11-7-898-152 - Coverin Primed Right - $18.31 51-71-7-896-839 - Front Left Fender Liner - $78.47 51-71-7-896-840 - Front Right Fender Liner - $78.47 xx-xx-x-xxx-xxx - Front Undersheild - $???.?? Couple of questions.... 1) Has anyone that has done this conversion order the pre-painted front bumper? Part numbers are listed but when I check getbmwparts.com the part number returns zero results. 2) The last part listed on the list is the Undersheild / Under Tray. Anyone know what the correct part # is for this? Also will it fit with a different motor? 3) Anyone figure out if you really need to order the carrier and the shock foam pieces? if not thats a $400 savings that can go towards other mods. Cheers! |
Oh and one more thing....
Do you think anyone would be willing to trade my Wood Trim interior for their Alum or Black wood? Or should I just buy some? |
Some updates ....
Ordered up my KW Var 3 on Wed ... http://image.europeancarweb.com/f/87..._variant_3.jpg As well as some VMR V710s in 20x9 all around (gunmetal finish): https://i32.tinypic.com/2nintzr.jpg Here is what the wheels look like on a Avant so I think they will look good on my BMW wagon as well: http://www.velocitymotoring.com/link...unmetal_45.jpg and also some basics: https://www.dragtimes.com/images-cla...0553220663.jpg https://3.bp.blogspot.com/_NOIC2Uloa...Fiber_Logo.jpg and finally I got the car tinted at 20% all around with the nano ceramic tint on Thursday. |
Test fit the wheels today .... rear needs spacers as I thought but the fronts look right on. They have about 1/2" of space on the inside till it hits the OEM strut, but no real space on the outside.
The rears have over a inch more room in the inside and about 1/2" to the fender. So I think Ill throw some 15mm spacers on for now. http://kristopher.derentz.com/galler...427_145648.jpg http://kristopher.derentz.com/galler...427_145724.jpg http://kristopher.derentz.com/galler...427_145745.jpg http://kristopher.derentz.com/galler...427_151805.jpg http://kristopher.derentz.com/galler...427_151822.jpg http://kristopher.derentz.com/galler...427_151840.jpg last pic makes it look like it pokes more then it does, as you can tell by the pic prior to it. |
Here in the UK there are quite a few E61 M5's floating around.
I like the colour and deep shine on the OP's E61. |
Just got my kw's installed this week they are amazing, I'm at 50% and it's just like stock. I'm so happy with them. It's kinda nice that the only one available are really good ones.
