Looking to add lumbar support. I cannot believe this was not STD!! Is there a way to add this or do I need to look at sourcing some comfort seats?

Also if I do change them do I need to get the car reprogrammed to accept the new ones?

I have an '06 530xit and the seats have a 4 way adjustable lumbar support. I don't know about retro fitting this option.

Easiest (only) way to add the lumbar support is to buy used comfort or sport seats.

What kind of seats you have now? I guess standard seats, but are they fully electrically controlled, or semi-electric (forward-backward + tilt adjusted manually)?
Here's the options if you have semi-electrics:
- easiest way is to get semi-electric sport seats --> no reprogramming or anything else but plug&play
- if you want full electric sport or comfort seats, some rewiring and reprogramming must be done

If you have full electric standard seats now, you can go:
- with full electric sport or comfort seats, at least some reprogramming is needed, but I don't know about rewiring in this case

I used to have semi-electric standard seats, and I swapped them to semi-electric sport seats and now I have the lumbar support. Needless to say that the sport seat in overall is 1000 times better than the standard seat. The forward-backward adjustment, tilt and the adjustable thigh support are still working manually, but it doesn't matter me.

I have full electric memory seats (setting adjust with his/her keys). Just want lumbar. Don't particulary like the look of the comfort seats.

Has anyone fitted M5 seats?? Missed a pair that sold locally, they looked great, if a little larger.
