Hi all,

Noticed a strange thing. When putting the car in accessory mode and putting the gear into reverse,
the reverse lights switch on...that is normal. However, when you do this and open up the tailgate (I have an auto-open/close)
then the left reverse light goes off. When closing the tailgate, all returns to normal. The on/off point lays about 5cm gap between
close and open position of the tailgate.

It this a normal thing? Some kind of "safety" feature to acknowledge that the tailgate is open? Anyone can check this on another E61?

I checked the wireloom and all seemed fine. Already had this replaced two years ago ;-(

Any suggestions are highly appreciated :-)

To finish off this topic, I checked the wire harnas again and indeed, few wires made a short-circuit. Fixed the wires and problem disappeared.
