Cool

OMG. I'll be sat at the window all bloody morning!!

I'm even whipping my three and a half year old daughter in to an excited frenzy.

The dealer called today to confirm that my brand new 530d M Sport Touring will be turning up outside my door on a transporter between 9am and 1pm on Saturday.

Here's the spec:

Space Grey
Black Dakota Leather
Media Package
Heated Front Seats
Visibility package
USB Interface
Electric folding and Dimming door mirrors

The only things I wish it had are sun protecton glass and Hi-fi Loudspeaker or Logic 7. But I guess I'll be looking at aftermarket options for these things. Any advice would be most welcome.

I've been reading loads on this forum over the past few weeks and it has been a great place to surf around. The galleries have had some visits I can tell you.

I'll post some pictures as soon as I can!

I'm off to have an early night tonight as i doubt I'll get much shut-eye on Friday evening!

Welcome to the board and congrats. What's your current car? I'm guessing not an E60/E61?

I'm on my 3rd E60 (525d -> 530d -> 535d), they are fantastic.

Hi Russ1974, and thanks to you all for the welcome!

Here's the history. I'm coming out of a Volvo S60 D5 SE tomorrow. I had to down-grade from a T6 XC90 12 months ago for business/financial reasons. Before the XC90 I was in my second E46 M3. My wife had a Grand Cherokee, and we swapped that for a Mini CooperS.

To be honest it's now two years since I last owned a BMW and I REALLY miss the brand. I can't wait to have one again [not long to wait, hurrah!]. I test drove a 330d M Sport Touring (very nice), a 335d M Sport Touring (rapid and real-world quicker than the M3's!). Then discovered that the 3 is too small for the clan and dog. I really wanted a 535d M Sport Touring but specc'd is was over ?50k!!!

I'm pretty sure now, that I will never drive anything other than BMW.

I had an XC90 very recently, nice car but a little boring. I had the Diesel though, I bet the T6 was great (but thirsty!).

Did you get much of a deal on the 530d touring? I got my 535d from www.drivethedeal.com, got something like ?8 or ?9k off list price, was originally going to get another 530d but the huge discount meant I could get the 535d, add lots of toys, and still end up better off

It's a contract hire car through HSBC vehicle finance. But got my best contract hire deal matched. And yeah the T6 was terrible. About 13-15mpg average. even on a 256 mile trip to the in-laws (Yorkshire to Southampton) it only returned 21mpg. It had to go.

Before your remap, is their a huge difference between 530 and 535?

I think i know the answer

Hi and welcome aboard and great colour choice.
Does it have the SAT gearbox? It is fantastic to drive with it. No regret if it does not have the HI-FI sistem, the standard one is more than okay. It is a petty that it does not have tinted rear windows specially with a daughter of that age. Mine has more or less the same age and it helps a lot during the summer, however you can easily solve it with after market films. The effect would be the same plus you can ad sun blinds.

Wow, it arraived at 11:30am. I moved away from the window for a second and when I returned it was there!!! Only 4 miles on clock!!!

Here are a few pics taken on my phone. I will take more when the typical british crap weather cheers up a bit. When out yesterday and even running it in (not going over 3,000rpm) it felt fantastic.

What a car!

Oh sod it. How do I upload pics?

It's asking for a URL for the pictures??????

Anyone?

Congrats on the car!

Just below the text entry area is "Attachments". Click browse, find your images one at a time, and then click upload. Repeat for the next image. Once all have been uploaded, drop down the "Manage current attachments". It seems you have to click twice on each to insert the names into the text area. I then reformat the text area so the pics are vertical and not horizontal.
