Pics to show what I mean with the electrical heat depended flaps... Now I HAVE to fix the BBQ before people will think I'm really sick sitting here and posting pics of some stupid flaps when the others are sitting in the garden drinking cold wine...? ?

I do NOT have those flaps! And the car is sold in Sweden with the "Swedish edition". Never even seen then at the dealer?!?

I realy like to se the stabilisation rods infront of the radiator.

Wery nice ride!

Yes, the car is bought new from a swedish dealer. I think they are there to get the engine warm quickly in cold conditions. When the engine is warm they are open. IMO it looks better with them...

They are directing the airflow down to the oil sump to help cooling down the engine better. They are n/a on US cars, since cars don't get driven as fast as here in Europe or anywhere else in the world.
Of course they do help the engine warm up faster, but that's not what they are there for.
Looks better with them IMHO.

This was intressting, why do we not have them? Is it because we have the M-sport package and the coolers are placed differently or what, someone that knows?

This flaps were taken away from the model year 2005 because something have changed in the cooling sistem. At least this is what I have been told by the dealer. I have them on my E60 from 2003 but they are not on the new E 61 model year 2006. It has noting to do with Swedish clima or so because all the cars use to have them too also in Italy where is much warmer. On the end I think that they realized that it is cheaper not to install them.

The option is named "Light Poplar Wood" which I don't think is available in the US at this time.

Mine is the first one I have seen with this wood and grey dakota combined so I was a little apprehensive. I liked it the moment I saw it, so I can breathe easy again...

Andy,
Great color combo! Can't wait to see mine, why cant BMW buy those big Boeing Jets to air deliver their cars to NA?
