I was looking at the pics again. I noticed that your 525d doesn't have the flaps behind the grille. Is that a swedish "arctic" thing?

Pics to show what I mean with the electrical heat depended flaps... Now I HAVE to fix the BBQ before people will think I'm really sick sitting here and posting pics of some stupid flaps when the others are sitting in the garden drinking cold wine...

I've got those flaps too, ipp...

They are pretty cool, when the engine needs air, specially when the car is parked with the engine on and it's hot outside, the flaps are opend, you can actually hear a litte electric engine opening and closing the flaps

Gotta get back to my study books... But this site is much more fun

Andy, I am curious about the beautiful wood on your E61. It looks like poplar, but is much lighter than what I have. I like it.

I guess the flaps are designed to control the through flow of air for cold climate variants.

The only use we might have for them in UK would be to keep the gray clouds out...

The option is named "Light Poplar Wood" which I don't think is available in the US at this time.

Mine is the first one I have seen with this wood and grey dakota combined so I was a little apprehensive. I liked it the moment I saw it, so I can breathe easy again...
