Every time the same reply from BMW dealers. Yes is available for other models (3 series) and will be available soon also for the 5 series. Ok but soon when? Very soon!! <_<

Is really strange that BMW , the first brand who create the agreement with Apple , is not able to deliver the promises.

I attended the last IAA in Frankfurt and also there the BMW specialist was really generic in te replies on this matter.

I ask your help to understand if is possible to do something on my E61 where have the cd charger and the 16 TV/nvigation system

The perfect solution should be the plug in /rechargeble base so you can use he steel control or , at least, the aux in jack to plug in .

thanks for your opinion/support

The ipod interface that works through the Idrive has been available for the E60/E61 E90/E91 etc for months in the UK. Many of my pals have had them fitted. We just use one brilliant dealer in the UK. They seem to know things way before anyone else.

Forgot to say the dealer is Robert Stern in Worcestershire. The person there is Simon. You can get him on shanmer@robertstern.co.uk he might be able to help, he did for me.

I just had mine fitted at Vines in Guildford yesterday and it works great. I wish the dealer had told me that the 6CD changer would be disabled as the iPod module sits in the CD changer now.

I heard that if you have more than 300 artists (I seem to remember this being the qty) that the inferface doesn't show the entire list of artists. Has anyone noticed this or any other small problems?

A scary ?500 and they weren't willing to take back the 6CD changer that they removed. I am still arguing with them on some form of compensation.

?500 .

Maybe you should have waited for the Gateway 500 (if it comes out finally) which is already available for the A6 and offers more functionality for a price of about 400,-- ? - and the Changer is (using a switch) still useable...

Im using BMW?s Ipod-Interface and im really satisfied. I took the one normally used for 3series (Kosts about 320Euros here), mounted it instead of the CD-changer. CCC Firmwareupgrade was required, but noProb. The Firmware supports Ipod.
Doin it with a 30Gig Ipod Video.
