Hi folks,

I just bought a 535D. The date of manufacture is April '06 and sold on Nov. '06. The vendor insists it's an '07 model. Is there a huge difference between an '06 and an '07 model?

When I bought my 520d last year, they said it was a 2008 model. Of course, it was manufactured last year but the style is 2008. I see lots of dealers saying this.... I think it's normal...?

Basically there was a big change in september 05 - the normal key got replaced with a start stop button. In march 2006, there was one minor change on the touring - the cover lid over the luggage compartment would close by itself rather than manaully.. From that point of view - manufacture april 06 is good... The next change happend as of march 07 (LCI, new engine etc.)...

Oh my, was there a big change in the engine from march '07? '06 was still a twin turbo right?

yes, bi-turbo. But the new engine has 14hp more, a much better automatic and a much better consumption (old engine 210+ co2 vs. new engine 170+ co2)..

So basically the pre-LCI engine had slightly less horsepower (18 bhp) and poorer consumption but had the bi-turbo set-up.

Yes - indeed. bi-turbo setup but 14hp less, poorer consumption and a different (relatively worse) tranny...

Peter, there are different launch dates depending whether the car is sold in Europe or USA, for example. Please update your signature so that we can help you more accurately!

Hi Narvselius,

Sorry for the late reply as I've been busy.

The car was made in Apr '06 and sold in Oct. '06 in Italy. I bought it here in the Phil's from an importer. I am in the process of putting on the M-sport body kit and OEM M5 wheels. I'm also looking at a DMS chip upgrade but want to do more research on engine reliability.

Thanks,
Peter

It is a MY 2006. In Europe MY 2007 starts with August production/September sales.
Ciao
Marco
