Headlight Assy Removal
I have a 2006 530xiTouring with Xenon headlights. I plan to remove them in order to do an R&R on the lenses and a few other things. My question is: Is it necessary to remove or drop the front lower assembly (bumper) in order to remove each of the assemblies?

On some models no. On others, it helps to remove two screws on the support ledge. You can still do it without undoing those screws, but it's trickier.

I removed mine a few months ago to do a good polish job. If you remove all the bumper cover fasteners along the top of the grille just forward of the center hood latch - you'll be able to pull the bumper cover forward enough to wiggle the headlights in and out. I didn't have to remove the center fasteners below the bumper line.

Thanks Guys, That's what I thought, but didn't want to get to that place with everything ready to do the lenses and other things and hit a roadblock!!
