My Ride: e39 525i Touring, will order e61 as soon as I can decide on engine and options...

Hi,
As you might know, the M-Sport package comes standard with Flashlight/Walknappa upholstery. I ordered my car with black leather BUT I'm having second thoughts.

If I choose to go with Flashlight/Walknappa instead of leather, I will save 12700 SEK (1500 EUR). This can buy HIFI speakers, an iPod and still leave some change in my pocket.

Due to the way packages are designed in Sweden, I also lose the PDC.

So to my question: PDC and leather OR Flashlight/Walknappa and HIFI + possibly something else on top.

What do you think?

Also, pictures of Flashlight/Walknappa interiors most welcome!

/M

Stay with PDC and leather.

How I love these packages..... If you could simply replace the PDC by HIFI-Speakers, that would be the best solution imho.

I have to make the same decision next week. And I?m still not sure which colour combo to choose. But after I saw the flashlight/nappa ( in truffle brown) ?live? at my dealer it was clear: Whatever colour it will be, it will be leather. Even though in anthracite flashlight/nappa would maybe look slightly better.

I think you should stay with leather, take the PDC and well....... maybe there is still a little bit more space for the HIFI Speakers?

Stick with the leather, no doubt about it.
I think leather is a must in cars like these. U wont regret it.
I had the same thing, also M pack with flashlight/nappa stuff, but i decided to replace it by leather since i didnt like the look nor the feeling of the upholstery.

Is the price difference for the leather only, or is it w?th the reduction of the PDC? Didn't you choose the advantage pack? If I remember correct is PDC and leather included in that one

If you don't have the money for both leather, PDC and Hifi, I would go for leather, then PDC and last Hifi.

The price difference is achieved by deleting "Comfort Pack" and adding xenon and extended climate which are part of the comfort pack together with leather and pdc.

So I lose both pdc and leather but gain 1500 eur.

Tomorrow I will visit the dealer to see what it looks like live. BMW:s pictures of the flashlight/walknappa are nice but I think it will look and feel worse live.

Positive things might be better grip and a more "young" look. We'll see.

I think you will lose a lot more than 1500? when you will sell the car if you don?t buy leather and PDC now, I would have reject yours, and looked for a more ?fully loaded? car.
I would also have chosen HIFI for 595? absolutely , but that?s me.

Well, today the problem solved itself!

I went to the dealer to have a look. Actually liked the Flashlight/Walknappa, much better than I thought. Quite discreet and sporty.

Then the dealer says; "hey, what's your build date"?

Ehm.

He checked and the car was not possible to alter, too late. So I will go with PDC and leather. And, according to above, that means I will make the right choice!
