e61 water pump issues-any ideas??????
Replaced water pump and tstat today had codes 2e83, 2e84, and 2e85 after bleed procedure. However, I never heard the pump kick on. Fuse 37, 70 and 50amp in the dme box ok. Does anyone know if there is a fusible link for the coolant pump in the power distribution box? (like in e90) Voltage on the bav tech read 0v for water pump. Thanks

after running multiple tests on circuits that all checked out, I tore the thing down today...this time in the driveway and it started raining...Good news is that the pump electrical connector was "snapped" in but did not seat all the way for some reason. Compared it to the old pump and it was slightly longer? Made sure wires didn't move second time around and it works perfectly. FYI this all started with the codes 2e83,2e81, 2e84, 2e85 they were in shadow codes. My wife got stranded with no warning in the fast lane when it overheated and came to a stop. Lesson learned , will check shadow codes periodically from now on. What a weekend!!! spent 8 hours under this thing but was nothing compared to having wife and kids stranded with crappy Sprint phone coverage. Thank goodness for BMW assist.
