E61 KW Street Comfort HELP
Hi everyone
I spent almost 2 weeks looking in the INTERNET for some touring with coilovers, pictures of installation but i didn't find what i need.
This is the problem
I have a E61 20d with Avant Garde M355 wheels, 9x19 ET 18 (245/35/19 Pilot super sport) in the front and in the rear i have 10x19 ET25 (275/30/19) and i read in KW street comfort PDF that stock wheels have to mount 5mm spacers.
My wheels are deeper than stock, so i think the problem is even bigger.
I can not mount spacers since i have the tire almost at the limit and here in Switzerland is a big problem if i came out with tire ( i also dont like tyres outside the fender.)
I need to find some pictures from inside that i can see how much mm i will have between coils and tyres.
Thanks in advance.

My Ride: Bmw 530d 2004
Hi Jose.
I had the Avant Garde M359 wheels in my previous car (530d E60) and I also had Street Comfort coilovers. The specs in front wheel are the same; 9x19 ET18.
The problem with the KW coilovers is that the lower spring plate locates lower in the strut. However, it is smaller in diameter than the plate of the stock strut.
It sits like this:
As you can imagine, the tyre will rub the lower spring plate. You would need a 5mm spacer in front. With 5mm spacer the tyre/wheel not will poke out from the fender and will not rub. There is more room in rear, that is not a problem.
I hope this helps.
