I have just bought a 2007 CPO 530xi touring, and have already had the dreaded sunroof drain overflow issue - hopefully resolved. However, I still have the issue of limited range on the key remote and I still can loose AM and FM reception right after the car is washed.
When I had the sunroof issue addressed at the dealer they claimed that the diversity antenna amp (the likely cause of the key and radio issue) is NOT covered by the CPO warranty and it would be 600 bucks to replace. Does this make sense? I have heard others say that CPO warranty should cover this, and it seems like that antenna amp is nowhere near a 600 dollar part.
Thanks!

Hello
if it's like in France, he's right.
In fact, corrosion is not covered by the "warranty" (which is in fact an insurance on the back).
I had the same problem with my 2005 used BWM E61.
However, my BMW reseller managed to not answer NO to the "is the hardware corroded ?" in the analyze process they did (as I myslef opened the part where the antenna is and I saw that it was). Thus the hardware was just defined as a "defect piece" and it was changed... but if the warranty was aware that it was in defect due to the corrosion, it would not have changed it.
Anyway, this probllem is very well known on E61, there is also a Service Bulletin related to this problem to install a foam kit to insulate the Diversity Antenna...

Not sure about the US but I have had 3 different issues from the diversity antenna area, the module itself and wiring in this area all covered under the CPO warranty.
-My original problem was the keyfobs stopped working all together (both of them) - diversity antenna replaced
-Then I had a low battery drain message appear in instrument cluster - corroded wire in tailgate wiring loom was the cause of this error message
-Last issue was the glass portion would no longer open from tailgate - more corroded wires was the culprit
Again all issues were covered under CPO warranty, was a little upset as the 1st issue came up 2 days after bumper to bumper expired (had to pay 50$)!!!

this is where it talks about removing it, but no mention of foam?

Found it! It's only good for cars produced up to 1/2008 though, so maybe those after already have them?
