Default E61 Air suspension hose replacement/upgrade

I'm not sure if this fix is a help to anyone but thought I would share as it seemed to be a decent fix for me.

I was having issues with leaking suspension (I have level issues after lowering and replacing bags). I swapped the bags and the solenoid but still had an overnight leak.

The replacement M8 brass fittings supplied with the bags/solenoid are a right pain to fit and are a pain to work with so I have tried something a little different.

My understanding is that the working pressure of the suspension is 175/200 psi, approximately 14 bar, so I have swapped out my lines to new hose and push-fit fittings rated to 20 bar.

The standard replacement parts appear to be quite expensive and a lot of places seem to just sell repair kits to replace sections of lines and the complete line.

My fix was t replace both red and blue line with a new 4mm hose, complete with brass push fit fittings.

The old lines were undone with a 10mm spanner (you have to remove compressor/air suspension control fuses, the airbags and the cover under the compressor), and the new push-fit fittings I installed with an O-ring and Loctite 542 to make sure they sealed and then the new lines pushed into the clips under the car and into the new fittings.

Not sure if this is would be useful to anyone, but thought I would share in case it helps anyone

When you had the leaks did the bags not fill up? Or did they just slowly leak when the car was turned off for a while?

Also, are the right and left different? On FCP I noticed they have a red and blue hose but curious if I can use the blue hose for both as the red (titled left side) is sold out.

The bags would leak overnight and then would pump up when I started it up again.

The lined don't need to be colour matched, they are just airlines. It is easier when installing them from the solenoid block to the air bags if they match the existing colours so you don't mix them up.

They are both different lengths so if the parts supplier sells them as 37236765097 left air spring & 37236765098 right air spring. If they are direct replacement parts you are looking at they will be different lengths, with blue being the shorter one.

My set up uses coloured lines and push fit fittings and was cheaper than buying OEM parts and you don't have to mess with the stupid BMW compression fittings and olives.
